Silhouettes...Upscaled & Makeover!

Hi Everyone!

I gave Nyla's silhouette a little makeover.  I figure we all need a makeover every now and again so why not our artwork :)
BEFORE

I used a previous silhouette and added a little paper heart barrette & necklace, how easy is that!!  Isn't she sweet?

Silhouettes, how to make
UPSCALE MAKEOVER :)

Easiest way ever to make silhouettes:
Print out a profile picture & cut it out
Tape that to the paper of your choice & cut out BAM 2 steps & your done!

For other silhouette ideas check out Silhouettes Easy Peasy :)

Thanks for stopping by, I really love hanging out with you!

NAPKIN RINGS...EASY DIY!

I grew up with a Mom that just loves being fancy and has no problem using china for breakfast or pizza.
Napkin rings diy, recycled crafts, toilet paper roll craft

Even though I'm an adult, I still feel like a little, giddy girl when I go for a glam table setting.  Ya know it really is super fun to set a fancy table to up the ordinary meal; and that means busting out the napkin rings!  The thing is I didn't have napkin rings until today.

I came up with the idea for these easy napkin rings as I took the last paper towel off the roll, not having another roll, this is where an idea was born :)

It just takes 3 things & a few minutes to make:
1-3 paper towel rolls
Contact paper
Scissors

How to:
I cut each napkin ring 2 inches (5 per roll plus a little left over)
Size up the contact paper, snip & roll.

Easy peasy huh? I hope you have a fab day!

little game of Glad Book - easy DIY

I had these little pieces of paper that I cut out of an old, discarded book from the library.  (that's a future blog post crafty) I just couldn't throw them away, they looked so cute.  So, instead I turned them into a new book.

A Glad Book.  It's a little game of Glad - book. It's obvious all the things we should be glad about, every minute of every day.  Sometimes we forget the obvious.

With this little book, it will help with that.  Just turn the page and circle a word that makes you glad.
Then on the next white page write why. You can even draw a little picture.

To make this easy peasy Glad Book:
Cut out pages from an old, unused book. (you can make it any size, mines tiny and I used 6 pages)
Cut out white pages the same size (I had 5 pages)
Use a hole punch & make 3 holes (or staple)
Tie with pretty little ribbon

Early readers can be glad too, just customize book to their taste and have them search for fun words from a subject they enjoy.

Super big time thanks to one of my favorite author's SARK for inspiring me to make my little book. For giddiness & inspiration abundance you gotta check out her books, you will feel the love immediately!

I'm so GLAD you stopped by!! My blog door is always open.  I hope you have a silly filled day :)

SOAP BOX PARTY!

I just love fun mail & I'm sure everyone else does too!  So, instead of throwing these little soap boxes away, Nyla & I decided to fill them with fun stuff & mail the party!

Here's some of the silly things we put in our party surprise.

Nyla decided her fun stuff was too big to fit in the little box so she tucked it all in an envelope.  She mailed it to her MaMa JJ.

I mailed mine to Auntie Kym.

I think they turned out pretty good & who doesn't love fun mail!! (plus the box has a nice soapy fragrance from the soap - thanks ZEST)

Here's another idea for some FUN MAIL  and in case you missed it, how to make MINI HUGS.

Have a fun, silly day!!

SILHOUETTES X 3 = EASY PEASY...

I started out making refrigerator coasters, got this fancy & practical idea from Restoration Beauty but Target didn't have enough of the same place mats, I bought 3 and was still gonna give it ago.  I saw this easy but very special  Silhouette DIY from Henry Happened, she made it so much easier than I have done in the past, so check out her how-to's!

...and that's when those two amazing ideas collided, my place mats were hanging around on the table; I cut out my photos, laid them right on the place mats then went looking for any extra frames in the closet, no frames but BAMB! I ran into my wrapping paper obsession, added my own twist and this is what I got.

My 3 babies - my wall of babes :)

These are the pics as I was spray gluing them; I'm so lucky I get to do all this right on my kitchen floor!  That's one of the perks of having old laminate, I'm gonna be in trouble when we get the floor re-done and I have to go to the garage!
Nyla 8 years
Martine 12 years
Dodger 7 years - the baby of the family :)

I generously cut out the profiles in various wrapping papers, I just can't do perfect cutting no matter how hard I try; but I think they turned out pretty good.

I hope you like it! It was super easy peasy.
(place mats, photos, wrapping paper, spray glue, poster puddy to hang)
Thanks to these amazing ladies from Restoration Beauty & Henry Happened for inspiring me!

So there - you have a threefer DIY all in one post :)

I guess I just have to keep going back to Target for my place mats to finish my refrigerator coasters, darn :)
