UPSCALE WATER BOTTLE FLOWER... DIY

Nyla & I went to a fun-filled artsy day at the Noyes Museum.  It was loaded with all kinds of fantastic artsy inspiration, here's one I just had to share!

Cut water bottle to create flower shape using the top of the water bottle, save cap, prime white and paint!   How easy, huh?! 

To create a "field of flowers" just attach flower to one side of chicken wire screen & screw the cap to the other side.

Curvy... Magazine Style! ... Easy DIY

I love this crafty!! Especially since I have tons of old magazines laying around!

Just grab some old magazines or catalogs, some glue (I took mine from Nyla's crafty stash), fishing line or ribbon & if you really want to get fancy some stick on circles.

All you have to do is divide the magazine or catalog in half and fold & glue your pages until your done with both sides.  For my magazines, I folded 2 or 3 pages together, my catalogs were thicker so I just folded 1 page then glued.  (I wasn't exact either some I folded a different way depending on the colors of the page)

I had these perfect, loopy-accordian pedestals on my coffee table forever. I think they make a perfect little perch for our little bird friend :)

then I decided to hang them and 

I love this just as much! To me, it's like a curvy little kite floating in my living room...

I stuck little circle stickers all over my fishing line (one circle on each side of line) and tucked the line in one of the magazine folds and taped the line to secure it.  

Fluffy Love...easy WALL ART DIY

This is almost the simplest wall art ever except this!!  I used crepe paper (cut into approximate 4x4 squares) & small cocktail napkins (I just cut along the natural fold lines).  I was originally going to use tissue paper but couldn't find the colors I wanted at the price I wanted (like super cheap :)  

Grab some

Crepe paper
Napkins
Glue
Foam board (from $Dollar Store)
Pencil

Sketch your design, I chose a heart this time but can't wait to try other fun shapes; and get to gluing your cut out squares.  You'll be done in no time!  Just grab some glue & a pencil from the kids school supplies and tuck your pencil - eraser side into your paper square for a quick easy application.  

Umm, I did try double-sided tape, finished by nightfall come morning time practically all my little squares fell off! :(  So don't try that!! I don't know if it was because the crepe paper was too heavy or what but it was a big time bummer!!

Good ole Elmer's Glue is holding up, I think it turned out pretty good, actually I Love the way it turned out, I can't wait to make more fluffy paper art :)

FLIRTY SKIRT CHANDELIER! ...

Every time I look at my chandelier, I think I've really gotta get a new one...if any of you have a house from the 90's you'll know exactly what I mean!  It's just I can't decide what I want; and since my husband is a commercial fisherman, he's away a lot and when he gets home the last thing he wants to do is install one!  

So, one day I was in the dollar store and found these post it like notes and these little stick on circles. And that is how my chandelier evolved! 


I love it!  It's like it's wearing a little blue flirty skirt.  Now, I can look at my chandelier and smile instead of grumble as I walk by.  It only took about a 30 minutes (I took breaks:) 
and about $3.00.  Yes, this is probably a temporary fix but the real joy is I traded my chandelier irritation for a chandelier smile.   Now, I don't have to be frustrated every time I walk by my chandelier which is like a million times a day!   Plus, I have plenty of stickies for my next brainstorm!  

Whew, I got super lucky! Post its were the exact same size as the panels! Measuring & exactness are not my thing!

I don't think anyone needs this but
Here's how I did it:
I started at the bottom of each panel stuck a stickie & worked my way up.  Did a couple more panels, took a couple of breaks then moved on to the next panel until I was done. No exactness, just kept on stickin.

The top of the panels were curved so I had to make a template, just a little measuring and then cut 10 at once to complete all the panels.

Then added the circle stickers to cover the little metal things.  

Now for the chain, I just added some left over wall paper and some blue ribbon from my craft stash. (again no measuring)

For the circle I covered it with more stickies & dots.

I hope you have an amazing day and hey, don't wait 2 years to end an irritation that only takes about 30 minutes even if its only temporary! 
(some of my sticky notes fell off but since I had extras I just stuck new ones on) Here's where I made a quick Change in 5 minutes & Mailbox WOW! to increase my daily happiness.

hmm... I think I'm gonna look for a blue ruffly skirt, I've been seeing them all day :)
